Dear Parents and Staff,
In June 2008, an environmental study was conducted on Building 3112 (Green Hut) and Building 3113 (Red Hut). The study was conducted to determine if any hazardous materials were present on the premises. Unfortunately, lead paint was discovered inside Building 3113 (Red Hut) and on the outside grounds surrounding both buildings.
The Director and the Board of Directors are working closely with Quantico Marine Base, the Navy, and the Naval Health Clinic to diligently rectify this situation. This includes additional sampling to be conducted later this month to better determine the levels of lead in the building and grounds. As new information becomes available we will update you.
It is strongly encouraged that you contact the Quantico Naval Health Clinic or your child’s physician to have lead exposure testing conducted. Parents can contact their child's health care provider at the Clinic to set up an appointment for a blood test or call the Clinic's general appointment number at (703) 784‑1515.
